French Day

It was a great day at Simon de Senlis today as the school was transformed into a French school for the day. There was a French cafe with croissants, baguette and juice along with French quizzes. Cyril travelled all the way from France to tell a french stories in KS1 and perform a French play for KS2.

Tesco Farm to Fork

It was great today to see children from across the school visit the local Tesco supermarket to take part in the Tesco Farm to Food initiative. The children were able to find out more about the origins of the food we eat along with visiting the bakery. They also found out about a range of fruit and vegetables from around the world. During the next two weeks most of the children from school will be having a visit to allow them to get closer to the food they eat.

Stories Alive

We are really lucky for Serien Partridge to be at Simon de Senlis to deliver 8 sessions on Stories Alive which is an initiative for parents to have time within school to support their children at home with engagement based around reading, play and language. All of the children and the parents have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we have seen improved levels of language in school from the children.
